What to Expect During Treatment:
Before you come in: We recommend that you avoid any
medications that can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin and
non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs), for at least a week
prior to treatment in order to reduce the risk of bruising and
bleeding at the injection site. Ask your healthcare professional
what he or she recommends.
Determining your treatment needs: We will examine the soft
tissue of your face to assess the depth of wrinkles and folds to
determine your treatment. We may even take
pre-treatment photographs so you can see the difference after
treatment!
Before the procedure: Local or injection anesthesia/numbing
medications may be used to maximize your comfort during
the procedure.
The procedure: The area to be injected will be cleansed,
commonly with alcohol swabs. A topical anesthetic cream,
icing to the injection sites or a local anesthetic via
injection (such as a dental block) may be used for your
comfort. Once your treatment region in numbed, we will
make injections in several locations, placing the dermal
filler where correction or volume enhancement is
desired. We may massage or manipulate the area where the
filler has been placed. The treated area may be cleansed
again. You may be given ice or cold packs to place on
the treated area to minimize swelling and bruising. The
entire treatment process may take 20 to 30 minutes or
more
After the procedure: No special care is needed after
treatment, however we advise you not to massage the area
for several hours after treatment, as this may displace
the gel.
Seeing results: You should see improvement in
the treatment areas almost instantly. |
