Does it Hurt?
Most patients are essentially pain free during this
procedure. We use the latest technology to minimize any
discomfort. We also apply highly effective pre-treatment
topical anesthetic cream. This is sufficient for most
patients to facilitate comfort. As every person has a
different threshold for pain, for those especially sensitive
patients, we have developed other protocols to ensure that
the treatment is extremely comfortable and tolerable
allowing you to fully enjoy the results without pain.

How does Refirme
work?
Refirme uses bipolar conducted electric current combined
with light energy to heat up the underlying layer of skin
tissue known as the dermis.
When the dermis is exposed to this unique combination of
electrical and light therapy provided by the Refirme
procedure, it stimulates collagen production by the cells
within the dermal layer.
Because collagen forms the support structure of healthy,
youthful skin, the skin takes on a firmer, more youthful
appearance after the procedure. You may also notice the
texture of your skin improves and fine lines become less
visible.

How is the Refirme skin tightening procedure performed?
The Refirme procedure is completely pain-free for most
patients and doesn’t require the use of anesthesia of any
type. During the procedure which takes approximately
forty-five minutes, a combination of electrical and light
energy are applied to the designated skin surfaces to allow
heating of the underlying dermis. During this time, you
shouldn’t experience any significant discomfort although
some patients describe a sensation of warmth. Some patients
actually find the procedure to be relaxing and have been
known to fall asleep during treatment.

How often do I need to have the Refirme procedure?
Based uipon our in-depth consultation, we may prescribe a
series of three to five sessions with Refirme to get the
best results in terms of skin firmness, reduction in
wrinkling, and improvements in skin texture. These sessions
may be scheduled three to four weeks apart. Once the
sessions are completed, the effects can last up to two
years.
